Lung Cancer Research and Awareness Bill

Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act of 2025This bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct an interagency review to accelerate lung cancer research, prevention, and awareness with respect to women and underserved populations. The review mustreport on the status of existing research and current knowledge gaps; identify new opportunities for collaborative research to determine the causes of lung cancer and advance prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment; andprovide recommendations for a national lung cancer screening strategy and public education campaign.

1. This bill directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to review lung cancer research focused on women. 2. It aims to identify ways to improve access to lung cancer preventive services for underserved populations. 3. The bill calls for a national strategy to increase lung cancer screenings, especially for women and underserved groups. 4. It seeks to develop a public education campaign about lung cancer and the importance of early detection. 5. A report on the findings and recommendations from this review must be submitted to Congress within two years.
