Wildland Fire Research Centers Bill
Official: Regional Leadership in Wildland Fire Research Act of 2025
This bill creates regional centers to research wildland fires and improve fire management strategies across the United States.
Ensuring Veterans’ Final Resting Place Act of 2025This bill provides that the provision of an urn or commemorative plaque does not prohibit an individual from receiving a headstone or marker or other burial benefits (i. e., interment at a national cemetery) from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Under current law, individuals who request an urn or plaque do so in lieu of being furnished a headstone or burial benefit.

These centers will focus on studying the causes, spread, and management of wildland fires. 3. The bill aims to improve strategies for preventing and responding to wildland fires. 4. It encourages collaboration among federal agencies, educational institutions, and tribal organizations in fire research. 5. The bill also seeks to develop career pathways in wildland fire management and research.
