Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Park Bill
Official: Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park Establishment Act
This bill creates a national historical park in New York to preserve the history of Holocaust refugees who lived at Fort Ontario. It aims to educate future generations about this important part of history.
This resolution provides for immediate consideration by the House of Representatives of H.R. 2550, the Protect America's Workforce Act, a bill nullifying Executive Order 14251, entitled Exclusions from Federal Labor-Management Relations Programs (issued on March 27, 2025). The Executive Order excludes specified federal agencies from substantive and procedural requirements that generally apply to federal employees' labor organizing and collective bargaining, as well as respective management obligations.
1. This bill establishes the Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park in New York. 2. The park will honor the 982 World War II refugees housed at Fort Ontario from 1944 to 1946. 3. The Secretary of the Interior will oversee the park's administration and management. 4. The park's boundaries will include land acquired for this purpose. 5. The Secretary can make agreements to enhance educational services and public access.
