Social Security Child Protection Act of 2025This bill directs the Social Security Administration to issue a new Social Security number to a child under the age of 14 if the child's Social Security card was lost or stolen while being mailed to the child.
1. This bill allows children under 14 to get new Social Security numbers if theirs is compromised. 2. Parents or guardians must provide evidence that the original number was lost or stolen. 3. The Social Security Administration will keep records of the loss or theft. 4. The changes will take effect 180 days after the bill becomes law.
