Official: ARMENIA Security Partnership Act
This bill aims to ensure Azerbaijan takes specific actions to improve security for Armenia. If these actions are not met, the U.S. will reassess its support for Armenia's defense needs.
1. The Secretary of Defense must confirm Azerbaijan has made progress on security issues with Armenia. 2. Azerbaijan must withdraw military forces from Armenia and release all Armenian prisoners. 3. The bill requires Azerbaijan to stop hostilities and recognize Armenian rights in Nagorno-Karabakh. 4. If Azerbaijan does not meet these conditions, the U.S. will review its security assistance to Armenia. 5. The Secretary of Defense must report on threats to Armenia and suggest ways to improve its defense.
Armenian citizens and military personnel, as well as those in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
