1. This bill imposes fines on freight brokers who hire unsafe transportation companies. 2. Freight brokers must pay a penalty equal to 10% of the cargo's value if they contract with an unsafe carrier. 3. The bill allows investigations of freight brokers after fatal accidents involving their contracted companies. 4. If a broker is found negligent in safety, additional operating requirements may be imposed on them. 5. Fines collected will go into the Highway Trust Fund to improve roadway safety.
