Why This Matters

This bill requires the President to identify foreign individuals who knowingly supported Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking enterprise. It then freezes their assets and bars their entry to the United States.

What changes is this bill making?
  1. 1The President must report to Congress on foreign individuals who knowingly took part in or supported severe human trafficking linked to Jeffrey Epstein based on credible information.
  2. 2The report is due within 90 days of enactment and must be updated annually for five years.
  3. 3The President must freeze assets and block transactions of those individuals under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
  4. 4The bill bans these individuals from receiving visas or entering the United States and revokes any existing visas.
  5. 5The President can waive sanctions for national interest or law enforcement needs, with notice to Congress.
  6. 6Sanctions do not apply when necessary to meet United Nations obligations.
  7. 7Sanctions must end if individuals are cleared, sentenced, cooperate with authorities, or take steps to remedy harm to victims.
  8. 8Federal agencies must provide briefings to Congress on implementation upon request.
