Improving Law Enforcement Officer Safety and Wellness Through Data Act of 2025This bill requires the Department of Justice to report on (1) targeted attacks on law enforcement officers, (2) the feasibility of incorporating such attacks into existing crime reporting systems, and (3) the mental health resources that are available to law enforcement officers.
1. The Attorney General must submit these reports within 270 days of the bill's enactment. 2. Reports will analyze the effectiveness of current training programs for law enforcement officers regarding ambush attacks. 3. The bill aims to identify disparities in data reporting on aggressive actions against law enforcement compared to other violent crimes. 4. It will also evaluate the distribution and effectiveness of protective gear provided to law enforcement through existing programs.
