Health Tests for Armed Forces Members

This bill requires the Secretary of Defense to add specific health tests to the annual assessments for military members starting in 2026.
Specialist Joey Lenz Act of 2025This bill requires the Department of Defense (DOD) to ensure that periodic health assessments of members of the Armed Forces include specified elements. DOD must ensure that annual assessments include a sports physical, an electrocardiogram, and specified blood work. Other periodic assessments must include certain testing related to burn pit exposure, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure, and other tests or evaluations determined to be appropriate by DOD.
1. Starting in 2026, military members will receive annual health tests to monitor their fitness. 2. Tests will include a sports physical, an electrocardiogram, and specific blood work. 3. Additional evaluations may be required by law or deemed necessary by the Secretary of Defense. 4. This bill aims to improve the overall health and readiness of armed forces personnel.
This bill affects all active-duty members of the Armed Forces in the United States.
