This bill ensures that specific state environmental permit programs cannot be canceled by the Environmental Protection Agency without Congressional approval.
Specialist Joey Lenz Act of 2025This bill requires the Department of Defense (DOD) to ensure that periodic health assessments of members of the Armed Forces include specified elements. DOD must ensure that annual assessments include a sports physical, an electrocardiogram, and specified blood work. Other periodic assessments must include certain testing related to burn pit exposure, perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exposure, and other tests or evaluations determined to be appropriate by DOD.
1. This bill prevents the Environmental Protection Agency from canceling certain state permit programs without Congress's approval. 2. It specifically ratifies permit programs for Michigan, New Jersey, and Florida regarding water pollution control. 3. The bill allows Florida to issue permits for 90 days after it becomes law, ensuring continuity in environmental management. 4. If other states create similar programs, they can gain approval from the Environmental Protection Agency.
