This resolution recognizes May 2025 as National Foster Care Month to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children in the foster care system and encourages Congress to improve their lives through new policies.
1. There are approximately 368,530 children currently living in foster care in the United States. 2. In 2022, over 186,600 youths entered the foster care system, with more than 108,877 awaiting adoption at the year's end. 3. The resolution supports May 31, 2025, as National Foster Parent Appreciation Day to honor the efforts of foster parents.
