Study on U.S. Manufacturing for Infrastructure
Official: Critical Infrastructure Manufacturing Feasibility Act
This bill requires the Secretary of Commerce to study the feasibility of manufacturing critical infrastructure products in the U.S. and identify any products that are currently imported due to supply chain issues.
1. The study must be completed within one year of the bill's enactment and will look at high-demand products across all critical infrastructure sectors. 2. The Secretary of Commerce must analyze the potential impact on jobs and product costs for any products identified as feasible for U.S. manufacturing. 3. A report with the study's findings and recommendations must be submitted to Congress within 18 months and will also be made available to the public online.
