About Lauren Reinhold

About Lauren

Lauren Reinhold has been a Kansan for 32 years, an attorney for 28 years, a longtime federal employee, and a workers' rights advocate committed to strengthening rural communities, protecting the middle and working class, and restoring integrity to public service.

With more than 25 years of experience in public institutions—including her role as Attorney Advisor at the Social Security Administration —Lauren has dedicated her life helping families navigate federal systems, advocating for fair treatment of workers, and building efficient, people-centered government.

Committed to ensuring government functions well, Lauren planned to continue a long career in federal government administration. Unfortunately, her plans changed when DOGE cut SSA programs, slashed people-centered initiatives across the government, and eliminated thousands of jobs within her agency. Lauren reluctantly resigned from SSA, deciding she could make a greater impact outside the government by advocating for the retention and restoration of crucial programs that benefit Kansas families. She raised her family in Lawrence and is proud to call Kansas home.

Now, Lauren is running for Congress to defend true Kansas values —community, hard work, economic security, freedom, and prosperity for all.

"Together we can protect working families, strengthen rural communities, and build an affordable and thriving economy for all Kansans."

Career & Experience

FEDERAL SERVICE & UNION LEADERSHIP

She served at the Social Security Administration, focusing on workforce modernization and employee support.

Worked to strengthen the federal workforce and resist efforts to politicize civil service.

Served as a federal union officer, advocating for worker protections, fair wages, and stronger enforcement of labor law.

Served as an investigator and election officer for the National Labor Relations Board, where she ensured fair play in the employer-employee collective bargaining process.

ATTORNEY & ADVOCATE

Represented low-income Kansans in Legal Aid organizations fighting for their housing, consumer, and family rights in the legal system.

Practiced immigration law in a legal clinic and in private practice, advising families, employers, and immigrants navigating complex federal systems.

Advocated for disabled Kansans facing the long process of obtaining their Social Security and Medicare benefits.

Built her own practice and later returned to SSA to support national operations.

Lauren approaches public policy through the lens of practical experience; she understands how both public and private systems work, where and why they fail, and how to fix them.
