About Trey Sherwood

About Trey

For the last six years I’ve served you in the Wyoming House of Representatives, sitting on the Joint Appropriations Committee. In this role, I’ve prevented cuts to the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Business Council while providing raises to our hard working public employees. In my “day job” I am an economic developer, working to build a vibrant community by collaborating with public and private entities around common goals. I enjoy coaching small business owners, learning new things, and finding “outside of the box” solutions to challenging problems. In the legislature and with Downtown Laramie , I champion our locally owned businesses, our culture and creative economy. I support strategic investments in infrastructure (water, roads & housing), public education, healthcare, and policies that preserve our individual freedoms. In addition to my community experience, I have a Public History degree and am a 2009 Leadership Wyoming graduate, participant in Wyoming Game and Fish’s Becoming an Outdoor Woman program, founder of the Albany County Housing Coalition, and co-founder of the Laramie Mural Project and the Laramie Public Art Coalition . I served as a board member for the Wyoming State Historical Society, the Laramie Plains Museum , and was President of the Albany County Historical Society . I am active in my church, Trinity Lutheran , and volunteer with several non profits. In my free time I enjoy hiking with my dogs, fishing from my kayak, hunting antelope, bird watching and gardening at 7,220 feet!
