About Erick Harris

Biography

In 2024, Erick Harris was elected to represent House District 39 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

Erick is an attorney and serves as Vice President for Legal Services and General Counsel for a transportation company in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Prior to entering private practice, Harris worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office. He previously taught American Government at the University of Central Oklahoma for nearly 10 years as an adjunct professor.

Erick obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tuskegee University and served as student body president. Harris later earned a law degree and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. While in law school, he served as editor-in-chief of a law review.

Harris is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and Texas as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Erick serves on the Tuskegee University board of trustees and is a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association. He is a proud member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma. Erick is a graduate of both the Council on State Governments’ Center for the Advancement of Leadership Skills and Leadership Oklahoma (Class 38).

Erick is a lifelong resident of Oklahoma and resides in Edmond with his wife, Melissa, and their two children, Olivia and Erick II. They are members of Northeast Missionary Baptist Church.
