
Biography
In 2022, Rep. Chris Banning was elected to represent House District 24 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Banning and his family live in Bixby, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force and was deployed on missions to defend the state and nation. He was on the frontlines of a rescue and recovery mission for the Oklahoma City bombing. The United States Armed Forces awarded him the Humanitarian Service Medal for his service to Oklahoma City. Banning is an entrepreneur at heart. He has a Business Management Degree and has successfully negotiated many business acquisitions. He is a nationally recognized leader in employing veterans and contracting for the military globally.
State representatives serve in their state's lower legislative chamber. Responsibilities include drafting and voting on state laws, representing their district's interests in the state capitol, serving on state committees, and shaping the state budget. State legislation covers areas like education, healthcare, transportation, criminal justice, and local taxation that directly affect residents' daily lives.
