About Hubert Delany

Biography

Hubert D. Delany III was elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in 2022 to proudly represent Stamford's 144th Assembly District in the House of Representatives.

Hubert serves as the house vice-chairman of the veterans and military affairs committee and as assistant majority leader. He is also a member of both the Appropriations and Judiciary Committees. Hubert is a strong advocate for fiscally responsible and socially equitable legislation, and he has voted positively for some of CT's largest tax cuts, as well as common sense gun reform, reproductive health care, and the defense and expansion of voting rights.

In addition to being a State Representative, Hubert Delany is also a U.S. Army Sergeant who serves as a photojournalist, writer, mass communications specialist, and paratrooper. As a military journalist, Delany has helped to tell the story of the U.S. Soldier all over the world. His photos, videos, and stories have been featured in news publications such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, USA Today, and others.

As a lifelong CT resident, Delany is also a local community champion. He serves as Commissioner for the Stamford Patriotic and Special Events Commission, a member of the Stamford American Disability Act Advisory Council, and a member of the American Legion (Post 03).

His personal awards include the Army Commendation Medal with five oak leaf clusters in lieu of sixth award, the Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters in lieu of fourth award, the Humanitarian Service Medal with bronze star in lieu of second award, the Army Volunteer Service Medal, the Public Health Service Outstanding Unit Citation, the Parachutist Badge, the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
