Biography
Rep. Stacy Jo Adams represents Oklahoma’s 50th District, which includes Jefferson and Stephens counties.
Adams attended Cameron University before embarking on a career in the insurance industry where she opened her own insurance agency in Duncan, OK.
Adams was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives for the 60th Legislature and was appointed as vice chair to the Insurance Committee. Adams was also appointed by the Speaker of the House to sit on the Appropriations and Budget Public Safety Subcommittee, Commerce and Economic Development Oversight Committee and General Government Committee.
Her primary policy areas will include supporting American military members and veterans, defending the sanctity of life, and standing strong for first responders, farmers, and small business owners. Adams is a supporter of Oklahoma’s oil and gas industries and champions policies that promote lower taxes, law and order, and economic growth for the state.
Adams and her husband, Ricky, have been married for 14 years and are parents to seven boys. The family attends the Grand Assembly in Corum, where Stacy Jo teaches Sunday School.
State representatives serve in their state's lower legislative chamber. Responsibilities include drafting and voting on state laws, representing their district's interests in the state capitol, serving on state committees, and shaping the state budget. State legislation covers areas like education, healthcare, transportation, criminal justice, and local taxation that directly affect residents' daily lives.
