About Evan Hunt

About

Veteran. Business Leader. Ready to Serve Again.

Evan Hunt is a decorated 20-year veteran and combat aviator, a community and business leader, and a Texas family man. Evan is running for U.S. Congress in Texas, as a Democrat, to take our country back from extremist agendas and to better represent the diverse people of 3rd district.

With over 20 years of military and private sector leadership, Hunt knows what it takes to put mission over politics and people over party. Evan is committed to protecting the intent of America’s Founding Fathers - constitutional integrity, the rule of law, and a government that works for all. He’s focused on increasing opportunities for North Texas families, while reducing hardships.

Evan is running to ensure every family has a voice, and to create lasting solutions that unite us, not divide us.

A LIFETIME OF SERVICE

Hunt is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. Feeling compelled to make a difference following September 11th, he enlisted and served with distinction as a B-1 Bomber Weapons Systems Officer and Electronic Warfare Officer. He completed multiple combat deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation NEW DAWN, flying over a dozen combat missions. His military journey also included service as an instructor at the Air Force’s premier training exercise - Red Flag - where he helped shape future combat aviators.

Following active duty, Hunt continued his service in the Air National Guard, where he held key leadership roles including Master Air Attack Plans Chief, Squadron Commander, and Deputy Group Commander, leading both operations and maintenance units in high-stakes environments. Hunt retired in 2022, having earned multiple Meritorious Service Medals and Air Medals.

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Following his military career, Evan transitioned into the defense and aerospace industry, where he has held executive roles at leading companies — including publicly traded corporations like Raytheon, private equity-backed firms, and venture-backed startups. With deep experience in national security, emerging technologies, and global strategy, Evan has become a respected voice in the defense innovation community.

As a business leader, Evan understands the power of innovation, the importance of smart economic policy, and the critical need to keep America competitive on the global stage. He is focused on ensuring North Texas continues to be a hub for emerging technology, jobs, and security.

ROOTED IN TEXAS

Evan has called Texas home for over 11 years, with the last six spent in McKinney, where he lives with his family. His son and daughter attend the local public schools, so he understands the challenges that parents face. He’s proud to be part of the vibrant, diverse, and growing North Texas community, and he’s committed to ensuring every one of its families has a voice in Congress.

EDUCATION

Evan obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania (including a year abroad at the London School of Economics) and graduated with a double-major in History and Political Science. During his time in the Air Force, Evan completed his Master’s degree in International Relations & Conflict Resolution at the American Military University. His education and experiences have equipped him with a global perspective and a local sense of responsibility.
