About Austin Harris

Meet Austin Harris

Representative Austin Harris was born and raised on his family's farm in Moulton, Iowa, where he spent his summers and weekends doing chores, feeding and working cattle, fixing fences, and doing any job that needed to be done. After graduating from Moulton-Udell High School in 2014, Rep. Harris attended Indian Hills Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts Degree.

In 2017, Rep. Harris worked for President Donald Trump in his administration at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. There, he was assigned to the Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services Agency, where he was tasked with finding ways to stop fraud, cut spending, and streamline the bureaucracy.

After successfully managing Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks' 2020 congressional campaign, he served as her deputy chief of staff and was responsible for overseeing the effort to stop congressional Democrats from overturning the certified election result of Iowa's 2nd District.

In 2022, Rep. Harris was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives and quickly developed a reputation for championing conservative policies that include cutting taxes, shrinking the size of government, taking on bureaucrats, protecting innocent life, and defending people's constitutional right to bear arms.

Rep. Harris resides on his family's farm, where he and his father operate a cow/calf and row crop operation.
