Local roots. Real-world experience.
I'm a lifelong Cape Codder. My wife Cindy and I settled in Mattapoisett in 2001 and built our life here — raising a family and protecting the coastal way of life that makes Southeastern Massachusetts home. For more than twenty years I've served this community, including five terms as an elected member of the Mattapoisett Select Board.
About
Tyler Macallister has spent his life on the South Coast. A lifelong Cape Codder, he settled in Mattapoisett with his wife, Cindy, in 2001 — where, together with their daughter, Alexandra, and their black lab, Zeke, they built a life centered on family, hard work, public service, and protecting the coastal way of life that makes Southeastern Massachusetts unique.
For more than two decades, Tyler has served Mattapoisett in multiple community leadership roles, including five terms as an elected member of the Select Board. That experience — balancing budgets, listening to neighbors, and getting things done at the local level — is exactly what's missing in Washington.
After years of watching the federal government grow more disconnected from the people it's supposed to serve, Tyler believes Massachusetts deserves leadership grounded in real-world experience, common sense, and accountability. He's running for Congress in the 9th District to be a steady, accessible voice for the Cape, the Islands, the South Coast, and the South Shore — and to protect the fishing heritage and coastal communities that define this corner of the Commonwealth.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
