About Darius
Born and raised on the Waiʻanae Coast, Representative Darius Kila understands firsthand the challenges West Oʻahu families face every day. Since being elected to represent House District 44 (Honokai Hale, Nānākulu, Māʻili) in 2022, he has remained focused on creating meaningful, lasting change that reflects the voices and needs of his community.
As one of seven children, he grew up in a family that never had the opportunity to own a home. He knows what it means to work hard and still struggle to find stability in the place you love. Those experiences drive his advocacy for housing local families can truly afford, safer roads, stronger schools, and more opportunities for keiki to succeed here at home.
Darius pursued higher education at Lane College in Tennessee, Fullerton College in California, and Southern Oregon University — broadening his perspective while reinforcing his commitment to return home and serve the community that raised him.

State representatives serve in their state's lower legislative chamber.
