Meet Eric Conroy
Eric Conroy’s mission began on the West Side of Cincinnati, where four generations of blue-collar grit and a World War II veteran grandfather taught him that service is bigger than self. After 9/11, Eric answered his generation’s call, graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy near the top of his class, rising to the rank of Captain in Special Operations units, and later serving with the CIA as a Case Officer where he conducted high-risk intelligence missions that kept Americans safe. Though his service took him around the world several times, Eric's heart never left Cincinnati. Now, he's running for Congress to fight for working families, revitalize Main Street, and keep our communities safe—because the American Dream should be within reach for every Ohioan.
Every Mission Starts for a Reason
For Eric Conroy, it began right here in Cincinnati. Raised on the West Side in a proud, four-generation blue-collar family, Eric learned early what hard work means. His parents' grit and sacrifice taught him perseverance. And from his grandfather, a decorated World War II veteran, Eric learned that service is bigger than self.
Answering the Call
When the Twin Towers fell on 9/11 and American troops deployed overseas, Eric knew his mission. After graduating from Elder High School, he answered the call to serve—attending the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado and serving as an intelligence officer overseas. His deployments included two years in Okinawa, Japan, and several years in Washington, D.C.
In the Air Force, Eric rose to the rank of Captain, leading intelligence operations for elite Special Operations forces and shaping long-term strategic planning across multiple commands.
From the CIA to the Front Lines
After the Air Force, Eric joined the Central Intelligence Agency. In the CIA’s Directorate of Operations, he served as a Case Officer — the Agency’s most prestigious role — managing clandestine operations in war zones and across Europe. His multi-year postings included Afghanistan, Poland, and Iraq.
During his time overseas, Eric built critical international alliances and briefed top U.S. leaders on national security issues. For over a decade, he led high-risk operations in some of the world’s most dangerous regions—missions that didn’t make headlines, but helped keep Americans safe.
Bringing It Back Home
Eric's missions have taken him far from home, but his heart never left Cincinnati. Now, he's ready to take that mission to Congress—to fight for working families, revitalize Main Street, and help keep our communities safe. Eric will fight to ensure the American Dream remains attainable for future generations.
Eric is a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds an MPA from Columbia University, where he specialized in Midwest economic development.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
