For too long, the middle class has been centered on the campaign trail but sidelined when it comes to real governance.
I've spent the last six years serving as Lieutenant Governor of the great state of Illinois, and I've seen firsthand the progress that's possible when we treat the needs of middle-class families as a focal point, not just a talking point.
As Donald Trump and Republicans continue their relentless attack on Americans – driving up prices with his trade war, sending masked agents to snatch our neighbors off the streets, and stripping us of healthcare and food assistance – we need new voices in Washington who will stand firm and fight fiercely.
I am that leader, and I promise to fight every day for the people of Illinois.

CAREGIVER TURNED CHANGEMAKER
Juliana's journey into public service started at home. While caring for her mother, Velma, during her battle with Alzheimer's, Juliana saw firsthand how broken and cruel our healthcare system can be. When her state representative tried to strip healthcare away from families like hers, Juliana didn't back down. She stepped up. She ran against the 13-year incumbent and won.
Since then, Juliana has spent every day fighting for Illinoisans, first as a state representative, and now as Lieutenant Governor alongside Governor JB Pritzker.
A MOM WHO GETS IT
Juliana understands what it's like to juggle family, work, and all of life's challenges, because she's had to do it herself. As a mom to four amazing daughters, she fights for working families and works to put Illinois on the path to a brighter, more sustainable future.
Juliana looks out for the moms of Illinois through her Birth Equity Initiative, which addresses the Black maternal mortality crisis and ensures that midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants are covered by private or public insurance. She acts as a mentor for girls through her Girls Lead program, and helps women achieve financial literacy and independence with the We Thrive initiative.
South Sider: Born, raised, and thriving on the South Side of Chicago
Juliana is a Chicagoan through and through, growing up and living on the South Side of Chicago with her family. As the daughter of a Navy Veteran and a Chicago public school teacher, public service is in her DNA. Those roots still guide her work today.
The Lieutenant Governor takes over if the Governor leaves office. In many states they also lead the state senate and can break tie votes there, and the Governor often gives them other duties. In some states the Governor and Lieutenant Governor run together as a team, so one vote elects both.
