About Jack Bergman
Growing up in the mid-west, Jack Bergman's parents instilled in him the values that drive the American Dream: in our exceptional Nation, if you work hard, never quit, and strive for excellence, you will find success. Those values are what guided him to the rank of Lt. General in the United States Marine Corps, empowered him to successfully own and operate a small business, and allowed him to enjoy a 22-year career as a commercial airline pilot.
The Bergman family roots in Michigan's Upper Peninsula stretch back to the late 1800's where his ancestors worked as iron miners. Serving his country in uniform for 40 years forced Jack to live all around the country – and world. Over two decades ago, Jack and his wife Cindy settled in Watersmeet, on the western edge of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula.
Jack is a grandfather to ten wonderful grandchildren. This has always been one of the largest factors in his decision to run for Congress. When Jack looks at what's happening in Washington, he fears that we are not leaving our children and grandchildren a country better than the one we received from our parents and grandparents. From his business to his distinguished military career, and now in Congress, Jack Bergman will not accept the status quo as an acceptable path forward.
Jack is driven by his commitment to serving others. While in the military, he launched two successful startup businesses in the medical equipment field, maintaining an obligation to both his Nation and his customers simultaneously. As an entrepreneurial leader focused on mission accomplishment and customer satisfaction, Jack knows how to get things done.
Hard work and commitment made the United States the most exceptional Nation in the world. Those are the principles that have guided Jack's life. He's running for reelection to Congress because he believes what most Michiganders believe: Americans know how to live their lives better than Washington does. Jack's life has been dedicated to fighting to defend the Constitution. He is shaking up the status quo in both Congress and the Republican Party by continuing to defend the United States from those who want to weaken it, both domestically and abroad.

As a candidate in 2016 I said you would have to take a chance with me and allow me to earn your trust. I have proven to you that I honor my word, and that I will fight for the issues that matter most to Michigan's First District. We have taken our positive message to Washington, D.C., and I am breaking through the bureaucracies and changing the status quo – and we are just getting started.
We have much work left to accomplish, and I am honored to be your only pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, limited government, and conservative in the race for U.S. Congress in Michigan's First District. Accountability, Responsibility, and Experience in leadership are the tools I bring with me to fight the bureaucracies and entrenched politicians.
Our shared conservative values have guided me through my career in the United States Marine Corps, from a Lieutenant out of college, to a Lieutenant General when I retired - and these are the values I'm bringing to Washington.
Members of the House are responsible for introducing and voting on federal legislation, representing the interests of their constituents, and providing oversight of the executive branch. Key powers include drafting bills, serving on committees, approving the federal budget, and voting on matters of national policy, including declarations of war and presidential impeachments.
