Background
Jeff Holcomb is a lifelong conservative Republican and a 24 year resident of district 4 in Hernando County. He previously served as Republican Executive Committee Chairman where he helped Governor Ron DeSantis and President Donald Trump get elected. Prior to moving to Florida, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He also earned a master’s degree in Intelligence Studies from American Military University. He has been married for 27 years to Stacey and has two daughters. He is currently a Software Consultant, and a College Professor.
Jeff previously served as a Hernando County Commissioner where he had 8 years of distinguished service to the citizens of Hernando County. As a commissioner, he has balanced strong conservative values with the ability to move the county in a productive direction, while listening to the concerns of the constituents. In 2019, he served as Chairman of the Commission, where he proudly brought in a new administrator who is taking the county in the right direction. A brief list of accomplishments under his tenure as commissioner were: keeping Hernando open during COVID, a new monument at Veterans Park, revitalize the soccer fields and adding a splash pad at Anderson Snow Park, Adding a new fire and updating an additional fire station, built sidewalks around public schools, double the capacity of the airport waste treatment plant and decommission Osowaw Road treatment plant, upgrade radio system to digital for first responders and expanded infrastructure to bring in more business at the airport.
In 2022, Jeff was elected to the Florida House of Representatives representing district 53. In the Florida House he has focused on a conservative agenda supporting legislation banning trans-gender surgery for minors, voting for bills banning men being able to go into girls bathrooms, voting for Constitutional Carry, voting for changes in death penalty cases so only 8 out of 12 jurors are needed to convict, banned children from locations where drag queen performances are taking place, removed DEI programs from schools, and supported the toughest immigration laws in the country.
LT Holcomb also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves as an Intelligence Officer with over 20 years of decorated service. In 2016, he deployed overseas to fight ISIS. He was part of the Combat Operations Team planning daily air missions in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. During his 20 years of service, he earned 2 Navy Commendation Medals, 2 Joint Service Achievement Medal, 2 Navy Achievement Medals, and a Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal.
State representatives serve in their state's lower legislative chamber. Responsibilities include drafting and voting on state laws, representing their district's interests in the state capitol, serving on state committees, and shaping the state budget. State legislation covers areas like education, healthcare, transportation, criminal justice, and local taxation that directly affect residents' daily lives.
