Biography
In 2022, Rep. Josh Cantrell was elected to represent House District 49 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Cantrell is a lifelong resident of Kingston, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school. He attended Murray State College until he graduated with his associate degree in 1995. He then continued his education at East Central University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Cantrell served as Commissioner of District 2 as well as County Commissioner Chairman. He sat on the board for ACCO Legislative Committee.
State representatives serve in their state's lower legislative chamber. Responsibilities include drafting and voting on state laws, representing their district's interests in the state capitol, serving on state committees, and shaping the state budget. State legislation covers areas like education, healthcare, transportation, criminal justice, and local taxation that directly affect residents' daily lives.
