Meet Melissa
A lifelong resident of northern Kentucky, Melissa is a wife, mother, and businesswoman who has spent her life building teams and working with people to solve problems. With an educational background in business, international relations, political science, and economics and a 27 year career working in food manufacturing and supply chain, she is uniquely qualified to understand the challenges that face everyday people and how lawmakers' decisions will affect them. As she has watched our country continue to grow more and more divided, she feels called to serve because she strongly believes that we need more people in government who know what it's like to work as a team toward a common goal, who genuinely care about all of the people they represent, and who believe that we are far stronger when we are united, not divided.
About Us
Born and raised in Villa Hills, Melissa is a lifelong northern Kentuckian with deep roots in this community. She has been blessed with a high-quality Kentucky private and public school education, attending St. Joseph Crescent Springs, Villa Madonna Academy, and Dixie Heights High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on Economics and Political Science at Northern Kentucky University and completed a master’s degree in Business Administration at Thomas More University while working full-time. She has been happily married for 27 years to her high school best friend, Andy. They live in Erlanger with their two wonderful sons, Sam and Josh, who are both proud Covington Catholic High School graduates.
She is currently a supply chain director for a global nutrition and agribusiness company, where she has worked for almost 27 years. Growing her career in a private flavor company before it was acquired by one of the largest food manufacturing companies in the world, she has gained valuable years of experience in many aspects and levels of the business. Melissa knows that to be successful, it is critical to understand the needs of the customers in order to determine how to meet those needs with the best quality products as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. A good leader must also be able to unite different kinds of people towards a common goal. She firmly believes that these fundamental concepts are badly needed in today's politics and government. We need government officials who will truly listen to and faithfully represent the voices of their customers– their constituents– and have a strong desire to work hard for the good of all Americans. We need legislators who will put people over politics.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
