Why Me? Why Now?
The Doctor
Healthcare costs are crushing Connecticut families — and I've spent 30 years watching it happen from the inside. The reason is simple: government over-regulation has destroyed competition in medicine. When bureaucrats control the market, prices go up. When competition disappears, patients pay more for less.
I've watched prescription drug prices climb 300% while manufacturing costs dropped. I've watched insurance premiums double while coverage shrank. I've fought pharmaceutical middlemen, insurance denials, and an FDA that lets patients die waiting for treatments that already exist.
I put myself through medical school. I became a surgeon. I've made life-and-death decisions for over 30 years. In the operating room, there's no room for spin — either the patient gets better or they don't.
Connecticut's healthcare system is the patient. And it's terminal without intervention. I know the diagnosis. I have the plan. And I'm ready to operate.
The Lawyer
Connecticut pays roughly 60% more for electricity than the national average. I've read the regulations. I know exactly why.
Federal policy has blocked natural gas pipeline capacity into New England. The energy exists. The demand exists. But Washington won't let the infrastructure be built — and Connecticut families pay the price every single month.
While still practicing medicine, I went back to law school at night because I wanted to understand the laws politicians hide behind and close the loopholes that let government avoid accountability. I've read the fine print on regulations that add $35,000 in annual compliance costs to a small medical practice before we see a single patient. I've read the tax code — 7,000 pages of favors for people who can afford lobbyists.
I know where your money goes. I know who's taking it. And I know how to fight back.
The Father
I know what keeps Connecticut families awake at night — electricity bills that have doubled, healthcare costs that eat your paycheck, and the fear that your kids will have to leave the state to find a decent job.
This campaign is personal. I'm fighting for families like mine — and yours. Every decision I make will be grounded in what's best for our kids' futures.
The Fighter
I've spent my career fighting systems that put profit over people. Insurance denials. FDA bureaucrats who let patients die waiting. Energy policies that make Connecticut one of the most expensive states in America to turn on the lights.
A fighter doesn't back down. A fighter delivers results. That's the leadership Connecticut deserves in Washington.

No Spin
Either the patient gets better or they don't. You take responsibility.
In surgery, you can't fake it. You diagnose the problem. You fix it. You take responsibility for the outcome.
The healthcare system is broken — and bureaucracy broke it.
Here's what no one in Washington will tell you: healthcare costs are not high because medicine is expensive. Healthcare costs are high because government regulation has eliminated competition. More bureaucracy means fewer choices. Fewer choices means higher prices. It's that simple.
The pharmaceutical supply chain is designed to extract maximum profit at every layer — manufacturers, PBMs, distributors — before a single pill reaches your medicine cabinet. Insurance companies answer to shareholders, not patients. And the FDA has become a bottleneck that costs lives.
Right to Try was supposed to give dying patients a chance. Seven years later, it's helped fewer than 100 people. Zero children. The law exists — the FDA just refuses to make it work.
Mike Hugo was given a year to live. He got into a trial. Three years later, he's still with his daughters. Every family deserves that chance.
I've spent my career fighting this broken system. Now I'm ready to fix it from Washington.

Straight Answers
Sat with families in worst moments. Gave straight answers — even when news was hard.
A Father
I know what it's like to raise kids and worry about their future — and to watch other parents face the unthinkable.
Families with sick children are being told "there's nothing more we can do" while treatments exist that could save them. 75% of rare disease patients are children. 30% don't live past age 5.
Meanwhile, healthy kids are graduating with crushing debt and no clear path to a career. Connecticut has 100,000 jobs sitting empty while young adults leave the state because no one connected them to opportunity.
This isn't abstract for me. It's personal.
A Fighter
"I'm not running because I need a title. I'm running because Connecticut families
deserve a fighter — someone who's been in the trenches."
Accountability.
I've watched the FDA let Right to Try die on paper while children die in hospitals. I've watched bureaucrats add costs that crush families and small businesses. No more excuses. Someone has to answer.
Access.
Dying patients can't access treatments that exist. Families can't afford the electricity to heat their homes. Kids can't access the training that leads to real jobs. That ends.
Opportunity.
Every kid deserves a path forward — college, career, or apprenticeship. No one gets left behind. And every family deserves affordable healthcare and affordable energy. That's not a wish list. That's a basic expectation.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
