MEET RHONDA
I am Rhonda Hart, a Texas mom and disabled military veteran. My family and I lost our 14-year-old daughter in the Santa Fe school shooting. That tragedy changed everything. Rather than surrender to despair, I chose to fight back — to make sure no other family has to endure the pain we carry every day.
For the last six years, I've been fighting for safer gun storage laws and common sense solutions to gun violence. I've advocated for better healthcare access, women's rights, and support for military veterans like myself. I know what it means to struggle, to sacrifice, and to never give up.
Now I'm stepping up to fight for all our families in Congress. Real change requires someone who understands the real challenges working families face — and I do. Together, we can build a better future.
I'm running because our families deserve a leader who will fight for them — not corporate interests.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
