About Shannon Taylor

Shannon Taylor has dedicated herself to keeping Henrico safe. Now she is taking on Washington.

Shannon Taylor has spent the past 14 years as Henrico County’s top prosecutor, protecting families. She’s never backed down from a fight – she's locked up violent criminals, taken on fraudsters and scammers, made Henrico a statewide leader in prosecuting sex traffickers, and delivered justice with a 90% homicide conviction rate. Shannon has overseen an 86% drop in Henrico’s murder rate over the past year.

Now Shannon is running for Congress in Virginia’s 1st District to take on the corruption from both parties that's jacking up our costs and hurting families. Congressman Wittman has spent nearly 20 years enriching himself at our expense, taking advantage of a corrupt system in Washington that serves politicians and special interests while raising costs on our families. Shannon will fight to lower costs, clean up Washington's culture of corruption, and make Congress serve the people first.

Meet Shannon Taylor

Henrico County's Top Prosecutor.

Shannon Taylor is a lifelong Virginian and has dedicated her life to protecting our community. As Henrico’s top prosecutor for the last 14 years, Shannon has tried thousands of cases and put violent criminals, drug traffickers, and abusers behind bars. She pioneered programs to support victims of human trafficking, created a task force to tackle the opioid epidemic, and worked alongside law enforcement to get illegal guns off the streets.

In 2011, she was elected as Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney, making her the County’s top prosecutor. Violent crime rates have dropped under her watch, and she has since been re-elected three times – winning tough races by bringing together Republicans, Independents and Democrats. When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Shannon was one of the first prosecutors in the country to defend the right for Virginia women to have the freedom to access abortion care. She has a record of shutting down fraudsters trying to take advantage of working families and locking up violent criminals who threaten our safety.

Now, Shannon is running for Congress to take on a different kind of threat: the culture of corruption in Washington that is driving up costs for Virginia families. That is why Shannon has released her Serve the People First Agenda, committing to fight for a ban on members of Congress trading stocks while they are in office, placing a lifetime ban on members of Congress becoming lobbyists, mandating jail time for members of Congress who steal taxpayer funds, and 12-year term limits for members of the House and Senate. Shannon has pledged to never take a dime of corporate PAC money in this campaign or while representing us in Congress, so there is no doubt who she fights for.
