About William B. Redpath

Who Is Bill Redpath?

Bill Redpath is the Libertarian Party's nominee for United States Senate in Ohio in 2026. He will be on this year's General Election ballot in November.

Born and raised in Findlay and an alumnus of Findlay High School, he earned a BA degree in Economics and Political Science from Indiana University and an MBA degree from The University of Chicago.

After working for five years at various accounting and financial positions at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Cincinnati, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, and ABC and NBC in New York, he had a 38 year career in Business Valuation, specializing in Media & Telecommunications, at BIA Advisory Services in Washington and Summit Ridge Group in Chicago.

He holds an active Certified Public Accountant license in Ohio and Illinois. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (Retired) with the CFA Institute and an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (Retired) with the American Society of Appraisers.

A nine time Libertarian candidate for public office, Bill has been a member of the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) for a total 24 years, including as Chair of the LNC from 2006 to 2010.

He is one of 25 members of the Libertarian Party Hall of Liberty, having been inducted with former US Congressman Ron Paul in 2016.

Active in the Party

He is a former Chairman of the LNC, having served two terms in that position from 2006 to 2010. He has served on the LNC from 1989 to 1993, and again from 2003 to 2020.

Redpath is one of 14 inductees into the Libertarian Party’s Hall of Liberty, having been inducted in 2016 with former US Representative Ron Paul.

A Proven Candidate

He has run for office as a Libertarian candidate eight times before; specifically, he ran for the Virginia House of Delegates (1993), the Virginia Senate (special election in January 1998), Governor (2001), U.S. Senate (2008 & 2022) and US House, Tenth District of Virginia (2010 & 2014).

Committed to Voter Choice

Bill is perhaps best known within the Libertarian Party for his work on ballot access. He served as Chairman of the Libertarian Party Ballot Access Committee from 1990 to 1997 and is currently again in that position. In 1992 and 1996, the Libertarian Party presidential ticket was on the ballot everywhere in the United States. This marked the first time that a “minor” political party placed its presidential ticket on the ballot in all states in successive presidential elections.
