Meet Michael Cloud
Congressman Michael Cloud is a husband, father, and grateful citizen who has a passion for helping people make a difference in the State of Texas and our nation. He represents and serves the twenty-seventh district of Texas, which includes fourteen counties along the coastal bend of Texas.
Proven Fighter In Washington
Congressman Cloud has made it his mission in Washington to stand for Christian, conservative, ‘America First’ values with the goal of “Healing America” — boldly speaking the truth and doing so with grace and humility.
He is a member of the Freedom Caucus – a group in Congress dedicated to giving a voice to those who feel forgotten by their government – where he serves on the board of directors. He has also been recognized as one of the most conservative lawmakers in Washington, receiving multiple awards from FreedomWorks, Heritage Action, Conservative Political Action, and more.
Most recently, at the beginning of the 118th Congress, Congressman Cloud was one of 20 conservative members who withheld their votes in the election for Speaker of the House as a means of forcing much-needed institutional change. Even under tremendous pressure, it was because of those 20 members that the House ultimately instituted rule changes that were once unheard of, with conservative measures on transparency, accountability, and spending reforms.
Results for Texas
A Texan through and through, Congressman Cloud has made a point to deliver for our district. He personally intervened with former President Trump, advocating for multiple local priorities, including relief for families after Hurricane Harvey, funding for major Port of Corpus Christi infrastructure projects, as well as the expansion of the Matagorda ship channel in Calhoun County, seeking to increase safety and economic opportunity for the region.
In 2023, Congressman Cloud earned a position on the powerful Appropriations Committee, where he serves today, fighting for stronger local border security, small business-friendly policies for Texas families, and cutting out of control Washington spending.
Michael’s Background
Prior to serving in Congress, Michael built a wealth of experience in the private sector, in ministry, and in Texas grassroots politics. He was a small business owner and founder of a video production company, worked as the media and communications director at Faith Family Church for over a decade, and served as the GOP Chairman for Victoria County for seven years.
While he did not aspire to run for national office, Michael was widely encouraged to run for Texas’ twenty-seventh district in 2018. After deep discussion and prayer with his wife, Michael felt God’s call to run, where he won thanks to the hard work of an army of grassroots volunteers and his loving family.
Above all, Congressman Cloud is a deeply committed family man, American Patriot, and Christian. He is known in Congress as a man of faith who works hard in Washington to deliver strong, conservative results for the people and enjoys life at home in Texas with his wife Rosel and three children, Ean, Zoe, and Kent.
It is a tremendous honor for him to represent his fellow Texans in Congress and help preserve our constitutional liberties for future generations.

Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
