About Bill Huizenga

Meet Bill

Bill is a lifelong Ottawa County resident, small business owner, and proven leader fighting for Southwest Michigan in Congress.

Before serving in Washington, Bill built and ran a local business, giving him firsthand experience with the challenges facing employers and workers across the region. In Congress, he has earned a reputation for fiscal discipline, government accountability, and standing firm on the issues that matter most.

Bill and his wife Natalie raised their five children in Southwest Michigan and remain deeply rooted in the community they serve.

About

Southwest Michigan is blessed with industrial, agricultural, and economic diversity that has helped create distinct and unique communities. Bill is running to have the honor of representing Michigan's Fourth Congressional District.

As a representative for Michigan, Bill has been a leading voice in the effort to make life more affordable by working to rein in Washington’s out-of-control spending that is fueling inflation. Additional areas of focus for Bill include: border security, limiting the role of the federal government, preserving the Great Lakes, and creating a sensible balance between federal regulation and private sector job creation.

As Co-Chair of the Great Lakes Task Force and a founding member of the PFAS Task Force, Bill leads efforts to strengethen the economy & the ecology of the Great Lakes.

As a leader on the House Financial Services Committee, Bill has made it a priority to make sure Washington is working for Southwest Michigan, not the other way around. With individuals on a fixed income among the hardest hit by inflation and rising prices, Bill has spearheaded the effort to stop bureaucrats in Washington from making it harder for Southwest Michigan residents to retire with financial security. As Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, Bill has worked to hold bureaucrats at the SEC and other agencies within the Biden-Harris Administration accountable while ensuring greater access to our capital markets for all Americans.

As a third generation small business owner, Bill understands the challenges job creators in Southwest Michigan face. That is why he has authored and passed legislation to help the next generation of small business entrepenuers climb the laddar of opportunity and success here in Southwest Michigan.

Bill was born and raised in Ottawa County. He currently resides there with his wife, Natalie, and their five children. His children are the reason he ran for public office and inspire him to strive for an environment of prosperity for their generation – one that will encourage job creation through private sector growth, reducing the size of government, and keeping Americans safe both at home and abroad.

Growing up, Bill attended Holland Christian High School, and later received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Calvin College.
