Bill was born and raised in Ottawa County. He currently resides there with his wife, Natalie, and their five children. His children are the reason he ran for public office and inspire him to strive for an environment of prosperity for their generation – one that will encourage job creation through private sector growth, reducing the size of government, and keeping Americans safe both at home and abroad.
Growing up, Bill attended Holland Christian High School, and later received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Calvin College.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
