About Craig Goldman

ABOUT CRAIG GOLDMAN

As a fifth-generation Texan and a fourth-generation native of Fort Worth, Craig Goldman is extremely proud of his family roots. The Goldman family has been actively involved in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County community for over 100 years. It is this passion for his home and heart for service that led him to run for State Representative in 2012 and United States Congress in 2024. Craig is honored to now serve and represent more than 850,000 Texans residing in Parker and Tarrant Counties.

Craig serves on the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has wide-ranging jurisdiction and oversees numerous policies including energy, environment, interstate and foreign commerce, food and drug safety, public health, and telecommunications.

Before serving in Congress, Craig was a member of the Texas State House of Representatives for 12 years. He served on a variety of different committees over that time period, but his last four he was Chairman of the Texas House Energy Resources Committee, where he worked to strengthen the Texas oil and gas industry. His GOP House colleagues also elected him to chair the Texas House Republican Caucus.

Before taking office, Craig worked in both the political and business fields. He spent over two decades working on campaigns to help elect Republicans at the local, state, and national levels. Then, for nearly a decade, he worked alongside his father at a family-run gourmet food and wine retail store in Fort Worth.

Continuing his family’s history of leadership and volunteerism, Craig has proudly served on the board of directors for the Women’s Center of Tarrant County, Cowtown Executive Association, and is a founding board member for the Tarrant County College Foundation, which gives away thousands of dollars in scholarships each year. Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Craig Goldman won election to serve his first term as Texas State Representative in November of 2012. He represents District 97, which encompasses southwest Tarrant County. Before taking office, Representative Goldman experienced a career in both business and political fields. For nearly a decade, he and his father ran a retail gourmet food and fine wine store in Fort Worth, and he has worked on campaigns helping to elect Republican officeholders at the local, state, and national levels.

Representative Goldman’s extremely proud of his Texas roots as a 5th generation Texan and a 4th generation native of Fort Worth. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin and is a partner in several real estate investment companies.

In December of 2019, he was appointed to serve on the Sunset Advisory Commission. The appointment is two terms, or four years, and will expire in 2023.

In February of 2021, during the 87th Legislative Session, Representative Goldman was appointed Chairman of the House Committee on Energy Resources. Additionally, he serves as a member of the House Committees on Licensing and Administrative Procedures and Redistricting.
