About Congresswoman Laurel Lee
Under the leadership of President Trump, Congresswoman Laurel Lee is focused on turning conservative victories into real results for the people of Florida’s 15th District.
Laurel serves on the Judiciary, Energy and Commerce, and House Administration Committees. During her first term, she was appointed to serve as one of the impeachment managers in the case against Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and she served on the Bipartisan Task Force on the Assassination Attempt on President Donald J. Trump, working to safeguard democratic institutions and strengthen the security of elected officials. She is also a member of the House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, helping shape national policy to ensure that American innovation remains free, secure, and globally competitive.
Before her election to Congress in 2022, Laurel served as Florida Secretary of State, where she modernized the state’s election systems, strengthened cybersecurity, and helped lead the nation in voter integrity and secure participation. In Congress, she continues to advocate for clear, consistent election laws that promote confidence in the process and ensure every legal vote counts.
Prior to her service in Tallahassee, Laurel was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Circuit Court bench in Hillsborough County, where she served as a judge for six years. In that role, she presided over both civil and criminal cases, earning a reputation for fairness, integrity, and a deep commitment to the rule of law in her local community.
Before her judicial appointment, she worked as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. There, she prosecuted serious crimes including child exploitation, human trafficking, and violent offenses, and served as the lead attorney for the Child Exploitation Task Force.
The daughter of a U.S. Air Force general and a public school teacher, Laurel grew up with a deep respect for service, integrity, and civic responsibility. Today, she brings that same commitment to her work in Congress as a principled, America-first conservative focused on protecting our values and delivering results for Florida.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives write and vote on federal laws, including the federal budget. Each represents one district and serves a two-year term. Tax bills must start in the House, only the House can impeach federal officials, and members oversee federal agencies through their committees.
