About Mike Ezell

Meet Mike Ezell

Congressman Mike Ezell spent more than 42 years as a law enforcement officer fighting to protect the people and communities of South Mississippi.

As our Congressman, Mike is committed to showing up, speaking up, and standing up for our conservative South Mississippi values every day.

S.H. "Buck" Ezell

Congressman Mike Ezell was born and raised in Pascagoula. His father served on the police force and his mother worked as the secretary at their church.

At a young age, Mike's parents instilled in him the values of hard work and public service. He bought his own lawnmower at the age of 11 and began his first regular-paying job at the age of 14.

After graduating from Pascagoula High School, Mike followed in his father's footsteps with the Pascagoula Police Department.

A Commitment to Law & Order

While serving full-time as a police officer, Mike attended night school and earned a criminal justice degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy and the FBI National Academy.

Mike ran for and was elected Sheriff of Jackson County in a 2014 Special Election. As Sheriff, he cleaned up corruption left behind by the previous administration. He cut wasteful spending, investigated and fired corrupt officers and returned millions of dollars to the taxpayers.

Because of his proven success, Mike was re-elected in 2015 and became the first Sheriff in Jackson County history to run unopposed in 2019.

A Proven Record of Integrity

After more than four decades of public service as a law enforcement officer, Mike decided to run for Congress to protect our shared South Mississippi values and our way of life.

As our Congressman, he is standing up against the radical left to ensure a better, safer, and more prosperous future for our grandchildren.

He's helped push legislation to revive American energy production, secure the southern border, and protect the unborn and our constitutional rights.

A Husband, Dad and Granddad

Mike is an active outdoorsman, a beekeeper, and a former competition shooter for the Pascagoula Police Department Pistol Team.

He and his wife, Suzette, live in Pascagoula, where they are active members of First Baptist Church. They also have a small farm in Perry County.

The Ezells have one daughter, Amy Ezell Dennis (Coby) and one granddaughter, Sydney.
